Target Audience:
The main target audience of this course are radiographers who wish to learn the underpinning principles of magnetic resonance imaging; perhaps with a view to protocol optimisation or as a stepping stone to a higher education award.
We also welcome technicians, radiography nurses ( e.g. in other european countries) engineers, veterinary surgeons and veterinary radiographers. The content of the course is non-clinical, but may be of interest to radiologists who are new to the field.

Duration: 4 days

CPD Now Accreditation
MRI in Practice is CPD accredited by the College of Radiographers.
The Certificate of Endorsement states that this course is:

"A flexible programme allowing the student to select according to experience and level of knowledge, focussing on the physics and technology of MR image production.

May support outcomes:

01 – Practical skills
02 – Add to Knowledge base
03 – Work safely
06 – Manage knowledge and information
07 – Contribute to quality healthcare/education services
14 – Provide support and guidance for learners

of CPD Now."

We are delighted with this endorsement and are particularly pleased that our support and guidance for learners (outcome 14) has been recognised, many other courses do not have this endorsement.

Introduction
MRI in Practice, the book, was first published in 1993. Now in its third edition, it is considered an essential text for many MRI courses including the registry exam in the USA and for post graduate MRI programmes in the UK. The amazing success of this book, which is the World’s best-seller in its genre, mainly lies in its clarity and logicality and it clearly provides clinical MRI practitioners relevant information at the right level.

With this philosophy in mind “MRI in Practice” is now the basis for one of the World's most popular MRI Courses. Presented by authors Catherine Westbrook and John Talbot,
“MRI in Practice — the Course” is also a most flexible solution to learning the basic principles of MRI.
Unlike other MRI courses, MRI in Practice offers delegates the option of gaining 20 credits towards a post graduate qualification in MRI - such as a Post Grad Certificate, diploma or Masters degree. This can be facilitated easily, as Cathy and John are both pathway leaders in undergraduate, and postgraduate MRI courses at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. This places them in a unique position to advise you on higher education options, and they are always happy to discuss this with delegates over a pint!

MRI as a modality is still expanding and evolving rapidly, and poses many challenges for the radiographer and radiologist. An in-depth understanding of the technology and clinical practice are necessary to exploit the full potential of the MR system. To take advantage of this exciting new career direction, many practitioners are advancing their knowledge of MRI using a variety of educational pathways. MRI in Practice recognises this, and offers continuing professional development opportunities to radiographers and other imaging professionals in the field.
